The fire-fighting dedicated water pumps for this project comply with the relevant technical requirements specified in Drawing Set 19S204-1, and are selected using the “five-point selection method.” They feature high-flow protection against overload and low-flow protection against shaft-seal overheating. In addition, these pumps have obtained fire-protection product certification as well as FM or UL certification.
The performance of fire-service dedicated water pumps shall meet the flow and pressure requirements of the fire-water supply system; the flow–head curve shall be a smooth, hump-free, and inflection-point-free curve, with the pressure at zero flow not exceeding 140% of the design working pressure; and when the discharge flow reaches 150% of the design flow, the outlet pressure shall not be less than 65% of the design working pressure.
The fire-fighting dedicated water pump shall meet the technical requirements of the “Five-Point Selection Method,” with the power rating of the accompanying drive unit sufficient to satisfy the power demand at any point on the selected pump’s flow–head performance curve, and such that the corresponding flow–power performance curve exhibits a peak value no lower than the drive unit’s rated power.
