This project includes the inlet valve assembly, outlet valve assembly, and test/inspection valve assembly.
(1) To minimize the number of interfaces, valve manifolds for water inlet, water outlet, and testing/inspection are designed using specialized products, and the major valve components are certified as fire-protection products.
(4) The test and inspection valve assembly includes fire-service-specific butterfly valves, automatic performance-testing equipment for fire pumps, and other components. (6) All types of valves shall be clearly marked with open/closed indicators; gate valves shall be either rising-stem gate valves or butterfly valves equipped with self-locking mechanisms.
(2) The inlet valve assembly comprises fire-service-specific soft-seal rising stem gate valves, high-flow filters, flexible rubber hose connectors, eccentric reducers, and other components.
3) The discharge valve assembly includes fire-service-specific concentric reducing tees, flexible rubber expansion joints, water-hammer arrestors with check valves, and soft-seal rising stem gate valves, among other components.
(5) The surfaces of all components shall be smooth and even, with an aesthetically pleasing coating that is uniform in color and free from corrosion, coating delamination, blistering, cracking, flow marks, scratches, burrs, and other defects.
